Orkney eight-piece, The Chair, promise a raucously musical blend of folk, blues, reels, rock, dub, klezmer and plenty more. Formed at the Orkney Folk Festival in 2014, they have garnered a cult following for riotous live performances of their unique brand of “Orkney Stomp”: a fusion of fiddle, accordion, bass, guitar, banjo, mandolin with exhilarating drum-beats. Their acclaimed third album, Orkney Monster, digs deep into their island heritage while maintaining a joyfully upbeat vibe. Erik Laughton, Robbie Thomson, Andrew Gifford, Gavin Firth, Bob Gibbon, Kenny Ritch, Douglas Montgomery and Brian Cromarty complete this talented line-up. Can the venue contain them?

“A formidable and electrifying presence” (Songlines)

The band stand firm and passionately in their love for the old tunes and songs of Wales.
