Surge Festival returns to MCF with fabulous and unique street theatre acts from around the UK and the world. A diverse selection of fantastical performances will be joined by our Four Nations bursary acts, newly developed by street performers from Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales.

Prepare to expect the unexpected as Glasgow's historic streets are transformed into a living canvas of world-class outdoor theatre, immersive installations, and high-energy dance. 

From larger-than-life walkabout puppets and 90s nostalgia hopscotch to interactive AI slime molds and vibrant dhol-drumming menus, our programming brings together local and international artists to spark joy, curiosity, and celebration.

Whether you stumble upon a pop-up performance on Bell Street or want to dive deep into an intimate graveyard soundscape, there is something for audiences of all ages.
