Following Doris Rougvie's retirement, the format for this year’s House of Song at Celtic Connections has been slightly altered. As a result, we will have different hosts for each weekend, with each bringing their own perspective to our well-loved late night event.

Hosting the first weekend of the festival will be Natalie Chalmers, a fine young singer from the north-east of Scotland who has entered and won many competitions over the years, and has competed at the Bothy Ballad Champion of Championships in Elgin. She has guested at many festivals, including at Glastonbury and Cambridge in 2019.

Our middle weekend will be hosted by well known singer and tutor Amy Lord from Dunblane. A former student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, Amy is currently tutor to a number of singing groups including Angus Folk, and the Wighton Singers.

Bothy Ballad and Traditional singer Scott Gardiner from near Forfar will take over the helm for the final weekend. Scott has appeared at festivals all over the UK and Ireland, and his repertoire of songs is legendary. A former Bothy Ballad Champion of Champions, Scott is particularly fond of songs from his native Angus.

Nestled away in the Holiday Inn (Glasgow Theatreland), this calm and warm session is just across the road from the Concert Hall.
