Inspired by Autumn

a new art project exploring Autumn and the natural environment as part of Glasgow Museums’ Our Climate Stories programme.

The Learning Team at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum worked with participating schools on a new art project exploring Autumn and the natural environment as part of Glasgow Museums’ Our Climate Stories programme.

The team shared a variety of activities inspired by James Guthrie’s painting, ‘In the Orchard’ and ancient, decorated, earthenware pottery, both from the museum collection.

2 images: left shows two people in a woodland setting whilst the right hand image shows a brown ceramic bowl.
Left, In the Orchard, James Guthrie, 1885-1886, oil on canvas, Right, Small red earthenware bowl, Peru, 1200-1500 AD

Pupils from St Charles Primary and Broomlea Primary responded with their own creations.
