Glasgow Museums offer unique experiences for tour groups that will create lasting memories for group visitors. We offer a wealth of history, art and heritage in some of the city's finest buildings. You can choose from the following group tours:

1. Kelvingrove Highlights Tour £240+ VAT (£12 per head for 20 guests)

Join one of our expert staff who will take your guests on a journey through our extensive galleries. Explore gems including Mackintosh, Glasgow Boys, Scottish Colourists & Dali and discover the history of the building and the stories behind it.

What’s included?

  • 1 hour tour
  • 10% Discount in Shop
  • Free use of the cloakroom
  • Reserve a table in the Kelvingrove Restaurant
  • Maximum 20 people
  • Opportunity to add on gifts for groups

2. Kelvingrove Bespoke Tours - £300 +VAT (£15 per head for 20 guests)

Let one of our highly experienced curators give your guests an in-depth insight into a subset area of your choosing.

Your tour will begin in the impressive setting of Kelvingrove Museum’s Centre Hall before being escorted around the collection with many opportunities for photos and questions. An exclusive opportunity not to be missed!

  • Glasgow Boys
  • Arms and Armour
  • Natural History
  • British Art
  • European Art

What’s included?

  • 1 hour exclusive tour led by a museum curator

3. Thistly for Riverside - £375 + VAT (£25 per head for 15 guests)

Travel back in time through a whistle stop tour of Glasgow history in the iconic Riverside Museum before retiring to the infamous Mitre Bar for an exclusive Cider tasting with Scottish award winning Thistly Cross cider.

What’s included?

  • 30 minute tour of Riverside Museum’s key objects
  • Exclusive access to objects with plenty of photo opportunities
  • Free use of cloakroom for your guests
  • A tasting of at least 6 different ciders with commentary from a Thistly Cross Cider expert (45mins)
  • A selection of artisan bar snacks during tasting
  • Exclusive use of the Mitre Bar for the duration of your tour.
  • Experience for up to 15 guests
  • Please note: This experience is only available for guests aged 18 years and over.

4. All Aboard! - Interactive Tour -£25 per head (min 10 guest required)

Tickets at the ready! Riverside Museum is giving exclusive access to some of our much loved transport objects.

Give your guests an experience they will never forget with one of our expert guides offering an informative guide to Glasgow along with access to Trains, Trams and Fire Engines. A fun photo opportunity not to be missed.

  • 1 hour interactive tour with a museum guide
  • Exclusive access to a minimum of 3 objects*
  • Free use of cloakroom for guests
  • 10% discount in shop
  • Reservation in the Riverside Restaurant on request

5. Behind the Scenes with Glasgow Museums - £250 + VAT

A unique opportunity to explore the vast collections of Glasgow Museums with an exclusive behind the scenes tour of objects currently not on display.

Join one of our expert guides for a highlights tour of your chosen subjects. Complete with tea and Tunnocks after guests have tired themselves from walking around the collection pods.

6. Research your Family History with Glasgow Archives - £POA

Discover the stories of your ancestors using the wonderful sources at The Mitchell Library in Glasgow, a one-stop shop for family history.

What’s included?

  • Advance consultation with one of our leading archivists ahead of the visit to Glasgow
  • Guidance on sources that will help them connect with their ancestors
  • A 2-hour visit to our Family History Centre at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow to review the material found
  • Bespoke advice on how to continue their family history research

N.B. This service will be tailored to individual and/or group needs. The price will be determined by the visit requirements.
