2026 Nomination Categories
This award celebrates an individual that has shown outstanding commitment to coaching and further development of participants within sport clubs or coaching of athletes to compete at major events.
We want to recognise a coach that has been a positive role model and has supported those they coach to improve their performances.
- Born in Glasgow.
- Glasgow Resident.
- Member of a Glasgow Club.
- Coaches Glasgow-based athletes or clubs.
Previous winners include Franco Smith, Jonny Mitchell and John Montgomery.
This award celebrates clubs and organisations that use sport and physical activity to make a positive difference within their local community.
We want to recognise organisations that respond to local needs by delivering activities that help people become more active, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for individuals to connect and thrive.
Nominations are welcomed for clubs and organisations that are making a meaningful impact in Glasgow through inclusive, community-focused physical activity and sport programmes that address identified local needs.
Nominees must be delivering activities that meet community need within Glasgow.
Previous winners of this award include Easterhouse Sports Centre, Sapphire Gymnastics and Active Life Club.
This award recognises projects that have achieved significant success using sport and physical activity to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals and communities.
We want to celebrate projects delivered by organisations that use targeted activities, designed to help people lead healthier, more active lives, while supporting positive wellbeing for participants.
Nominations are welcomed for projects that have demonstrated a meaningful impact on health and wellbeing through inclusive, accessible activities.
Previous winners include Glasgow Life Walking Football, Bluevale Community Club and Trans Active.
Nominees should be delivering activity within Glasgow.
This award celebrates a person who has shown outstanding commitment, dedication and enthusiasm in their support of sport and physical activity over a considerable period of time (20+ years).
We want to recognise someone who has gone above and beyond throughout their life to help more people be active in their sport or community.
Nominees must meet one of the following criteria:
- Born in Glasgow.
- Glasgow Resident
- Member of a Glasgow Club
Previous winners include Raza Sadiq (Active Life Club), Morag McCulloch (Badminton Scotland) and Willie Cameron (Shoot for Success SCIO).

Previous winners of this award include Melanie Woods, Stephen McGuire MBE, Samantha Kinghorn MBE and Gordon Reid OBE.
- Born in Glasgow.

- Made a significant contribution to sport in Glasgow.
Previous winners of this award include Laura McKenzie, Duncan Scott OBE, Katie Archibald MBE, Samantha Kinghorn MBE, Sir Andy Murray and Laura Muir.
This award is all about celebrating projects that use sport and physical activity to strengthen connections between people and communities across Glasgow.
We want to recognise projects delivered by clubs and organisations that actively break down barriers and create inclusive opportunities for everyone to take part in sport and physical activity.
Nominations are welcomed for projects that have delivered targeted activities which promote equality, diversity and inclusion, helping people from different backgrounds to come together, participate and feel part of their community.
Nominees must be delivering activity within Glasgow.
Previous winners of this award include WOMANity, Pollok Utd - PACE Project and Glasgow Afghan United - Women's Empowerment.

Previous winners of this award include Bill Stark (Whitehill Swimming ASC), Nadine Graham (Shettleston Boxing Club) and Abdul Bostani (Glasgow Afghan United).
This award celebrates a young sportsperson, aged 18 years of age or younger (upon nomination), who has displayed outstanding performances at a local, national or international level within their sport.
We want to recognise a young athlete whose has achieved outstanding success within their sport.
Nominees must meet one of the following criteria:
- Born in Glasgow.
- Glasgow Resident.
- Member of a Glasgow Club.
Previous winners include Helena Nabili (Canoe Slalom), Dean Patterson (Athletics). Zain Iqbal (Boxing) and Katie Shanahan (Swimming) .

You should have a look over the categories and criteria above to find the best fit for your nominee.

Yes - you can make multiple nominations or nominate the same person or group in multiple categories.
You will need to complete a separate form for each nomination.
When you submit your nomination you will be directed to a page that confirms we have received this and gives you the option to submit another.
All nominations, with the exception of Lifetime Achievement, should highlight achievements and impact between September 2025 - September 2026.
You will need to complete the form in one go. We would recommend that you have the information required with you to allow you to do this.
Please check what is required for the nomination below and you can copy and paste into the form.
We will ask for your name and contact details. This will allow us to get in touch for more information or if your nominee is shortlisted.
You will need to provide us with the nominee information (name, contact details, club etc).
The main questions will focus on background of the nominee and achievements / impact within the past 12 months. There is a word limit of 200 words on each of the two questions.
Please remember to look at the category criteria to make sure you are providing the best information for your nominee.
We recognise that AI tools can be helpful for creating a clear and well-structured application. They can assist with grammar, tone and overall clarity.
However, relying too heavily on these tools may result in applications that are vague or overly generic, which often fail to provide the detailed information needed.
Please make sure that you add the specific information that supports your nominee to be recognised.
It is a good idea to let your nominee know that you are nominating then to make sure they are happy with this.
We will contact all shortlisted nominees to confirm they are happy to be considered for the award.
When you have submitted your nomination you will be directed to a webpage that confirms we have received this and offer you the opportunity to complete another.

Nominations close at midnight on Wednesday 30th September 2026.
They will be compiled and presented to the awards panel which includes representatives from across sport, physical activity and wellbeing in Glasgow.
Shortlisted nominees will be contacted and announced in early November.
Glasgow's Sport Awards will be hosted in Glasgow International Arena in December.
