Iain Pringle

Assistant High Performance Badminton Coach

Iain Pringle is an ex-international player with 50 caps to his credit while competing in European, Thomas Cup and Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh 1986 as well as numerous friendly Internationals spanning 7 years.

As part of the coaching team at Glasgow School of Sport, Iain has played a key role in supporting players to gain success at National and International level.  As well as being key member of the support behind many of our pupils who have represented Scotland at International level and gained medals at Scottish, British and European Championships.

Iain has travelled extensively throughout Europe and has gained International Coaching Experience in countries including Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Spain and Switzerland as well as throughout the UK.

Iain Spent 7 years as Head Coach to Glasgow’s Talent Squad and 3 years as West of Scotland Institute of Sport Head Badminton Coach. In addition Iain has worked with National Junior Teams, including the European Junior Team in 2002.

Iain spent a year as Head Coach at the School of Sport and holds BADMINTONscotland Advanced Coaching Qualification.

As a famous father, Iain has been fortunate to see his daughter Caitlin compete at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and sons Ciar and Adam compete at the European Junior Championships in recent years.
