Gateway to Volunteering
Gateway to Volunteering provides training and support to help you start your volunteer journey.
In Glasgow's year as European Capital of Sport, Glasgow Life want to support new volunteers into community sport.
We want to remove any barriers that have stopped you volunteering before by providing training, support and finding the right opportunity.
Applications will remain open and we will be in touch in due course.
Sport Clubs and organisations rely upon volunteers to get more people active.
The vast majority of clubs and community sport hubs are run entirely by volunteers.
People like you who started out wanting to give back!
Being a volunteer is a great way to meet new people, to give back to your community and enjoy new experiences.
We want to support people who are not currently volunteering.
You must live in Glasgow and be able to commit to training dates between September and November.
The only thing we ask for is that you are motivated to volunteer with a sports club or community organisation.
We will hold a welcome night in September to get to know you a little better.
This will help us plan your training and start to find the right opportunity for you.
We will offer workshops for those that want to be involved in the delivery of sport and people who want to support off of the pitch.
Glasgow Life will provide the tools you need before finding you the right place to volunteer.
Glasgow Life have partners delivering in communities across the city.
We are confident that regardless of what you are looking for we can match you into an opportunity that suits.
All of this will be done in conversation with you and the club to make sure it is the right fit for everyone.
