Can CBT change your daily life?

Have you ever considered that changing the way you think could improve your overall wellbeing? On Friday 29 August, from 11 am to 3 pm, sessions on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) are heading to the Forge Shopping Centre in Parkhead. This free event is part of the 55th Annual EABCT Congress and Workshops. A major event where experts from around the world share ideas about CBT, supported by the Glasgow Convention Bureau.
CBT is a type of talking therapy that helps you spot unhelpful thoughts and change them. It can help with many problems, like feeling low, worrying too much, trouble sleeping, and stress.
What’s happening on the day
From 12 pm to 2.30 pm, volunteers will run short sessions on:
- Winter blues (SAD) – Feeling low in winter is common. Learn how to notice unhelpful thoughts and take small actions to boost your mood and energy.
- Mindfulness – Simple ways to slow down, focus on the moment, and calm your mind.
- Getting help in Scotland – Find out how to get CBT support, including free NHS Scotland services, online help, and phone therapy.
Our charity partners, SAMH and Living Life to the Full, will also be there. They can point you towards free, friendly help and resources.
