Congratulations to our Glasgow Code Learning team who won the Digital Learning category at the CDN Awards in Glasgow on Thursday 4 December.

The award recognises the talent, skills and achievements of the programme staff and learners who deliver excellence and innovation in digital learning.

Glasgow Code Learning (GCL) programme, delivered in partnership with Glasgow Clyde College, aims to open doors to Scotland’s tech sector for learners traditionally excluded from digital careers.

Learners have a range of vocational, accredited qualifications available to them to suit their learning needs. This approach allows learners to join the programme at the level which best suits their experience and aspirations, then progress through the GCL pathway to incrementally build skills and confidence. Levels range from the very basics required for work (delivered by Glasgow Life’s own Digital Learning Tutor team) to top level digital skills courses in Web Design, Cyber Security, Software Development and A.I. & Data Science.

GCL’s model is highly adaptable. Its modular structure, micro-credentials and wraparound support can be transferred to other areas including healthcare, business and green energy.

The Award sponsor said: “What makes GCL unique is its focus on social equity alongside digital skills. Its learner-centred, trauma-informed approach, paired with community-based delivery and measurable outcomes, sets a new standard for inclusive tech education.”

Hazel Kyle, Project Manager for Glasgow Code Learning said: “The Awards celebrate the talent, innovation, and success across Scotland’s College sector, so I am delighted that the years of hard work our small team have put in to developing this programme, together with our strong partnership with the College, have been recognised at this level. We’re excited to build on this success with even more to come next year.”
