LGBT + History Month 2026

February is LGBT+ History Month, a time to celebrate the many different stories within the LGBT+ community.

Schools OUT started LGBT+ History Month in 2005 to help create a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone.

This year, the theme is Science and Innovations. Follow Schools OUT on social media to discover five LGBT+ historical figures who have made a difference in these areas.

LGBT+ Histories tours at Burrell

A group of people taking part in a guided tour at a museum. They are in a room with large floor to ceiling windows looking out onto a forested area and there is a large ceramic figure in the foreground

To mark the occasion, The Burrell Collection is offering more free LGBT+ Histories tours in February.

LGBT+ people and culture have always been part of art and history. These tours share some of the lesser-known LGBT+ stories behind The Burrell's most popular objects.

Tours take place from 2pm to 3pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays in February. You don't ned to book. Just meet at the tour meeting point screen by the reception. For more details, visit burrellcollection.com.
