New Glasgow Life Volunteering Strategy 2026-29
Volunteering is at the heart of Glasgow Life. Every day, volunteers share their time, skills and energy to support our services, strengthen communities and make a positive difference across Glasgow.
From sport and leisure to museums, libraries and cultural events, volunteers play a vital role in what we do. Volunteering also creates opportunities to build confidence, develop skills, connect with others and feel part of the city.
Our new Volunteering Strategy 2026-29 sets out how we'll create meaningful, inclusive volunteering experiences where people feel valued, supported and able to make a difference.

"I'm absolutely delighted to share our new Volunteering Strategy. It's been a genuine collective effort, shaped by the voices, experience and enthusiasm of so many people.
"Huge thanks to Team Kinetic for funding Ruth Leonard's consultancy and workshops.
"Ruth's warm and inclusive approach encouraged colleagues from across Glasgow Life to get involved and share their views. Most importantly, thank you to our volunteers and colleagues who gave their time, ideas and honest feedback. This strategy really belongs to everyone who helped shape it."
