Policy update: Conditions of Service

To make things easier for you, we have updated our Conditions of Service. This document now contains information on:

  • Maternity/Adoption Leave
  • Shared Parental Leave
  • Maternity and Paternity Support Leave
  • Neonatal Leave

What’s new in our Conditions of Service document

  • We have merged the Maternity/Adoption Leave, Shared Parental Leave, Maternity and Paternity Support leave policies into the Conditions of Service document.
  • We have added information about our Neonatal Leave and Pay provision. We launched this in 2023, and it is now officially documented in this document.
  • We have added information about Pregnancy Risk Assessments. This information was previously held in a separate flow chart.
  • We have included breastfeeding information to support our colleagues who choose to breastfeed or express upon returning to work.
  • We have included updated guidance on adoption leave, including overseas adoption, reflecting legislative change. 

New tools to help you

  • An updated managers guide and colleague guide for Maternity and Adoption Leave to reflect changes made to the Conditions of Service.
  • A new colleague guide to Shared Parental Leave. This complements the managers guide to Shared Parental Leave.
  • Application forms for Maternity/Adoption Leave, Paternity Support Leave, Neonatal Leave and Shared Parental Leave to mirror the revised Conditions of Service.
