Young people achieve Health Issues in the Community award
This past year, our Northwest Youth Work Team helped senior school students finish their Accredited Health Issues in the Community Course (HIIC).
The course helps young people learn about the social and economic factors that affect health. While teaching them how to work together to tackle health inequalities.
Earlier this month, the team invited students and their parents to Netherton Community Centre to celebrate the students' completion of their SCQF Level 6 Award.
Kate McHendry from the Community Health Exchange (CHEX), who leads HIIC across the country, and Emma O'Donnell, Libraries and Communities Coordinator, handed out the awards to the young people.
Emma said: "It's great to see young people gain this accreditation and to celebrate the Youth Work team's success in running the course. We hope even more young people will take part next year and earn this award across the city."
