Henry Bell and Keira McLean
Project description
Over the period of the residency Henry and Keira propose to run regular participatory workshops and walks exploring history, storytelling and poetry as part of a living body of community-building and research. They intend to then reflect their community research, community engagement, workshops and walks in the creation of a celebratory stained-glass window and publication of a new pamphlet. These works will engage with the stories that have shaped the area and the city’s history, serving to bring people together, welcome them to Charing Cross and sustain future community work.
Their work contributes to the development of the Cameron Memorial Fountain parklet development, exploring the site as a marker of what has been lost and what has been saved: a leaning fountain that represents something profound about Glasgow as a city continually in a process of destruction and renewal.
