The benefits of music in unlocking memories, reducing stress and anxiety while also helping maintain speech and language, are increasingly recognised.  Please join us for a relaxed afternoon performance by Catherine Tinney & Luc McNally recorded in Tramway as part of Celtic Connections 2021.

Catherine Tinney hails from the Isle of Skye where she was immersed in Gaelic culture and traditional music from a young age. She previously attended the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton and is currently based in Glasgow where she is a Gaelic singing and language tutor. Catherine is also a BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2019 finalist.

Luc McNally is a guitarist and singer from Dipton, County Durham. His work has taken him all over the UK and to Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and the Czech Republic. Having been introduced to traditional music by 4 years with Kathryn Tickell’s Folkestra Youth ensemble, he went on to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

As well as teaching guitar and playing multiple Scottish/Irish music sessions around Glasgow, he plays new rock/traditional band Dosca, with electronic/Celtic group Sketch, in a songs and tunes duo with piper and whistle player Eddie Seaman, and with North-Eastern Scottish folk singer Iona Fyfe.
