Donald WG Lindsay is one of the most distinctive and influential figures in contemporary Scottish folk music, celebrated as a master piper, traditional singer, and a pioneering instrument designer. He is best known as the creator of the 'Lindsay System' chanter, which extends the instrument's range to nearly three octaves without using keys - a feat previously thought impossible.
On stage, Donald WG Lindsay brings to life a repertoire that spans rare traditional Scots ballads, original songs, and a vibrant selection of pipe tunes, which draw influence from Scots fiddle, Highland piping, and Hungarian and Romanian pipe music. Join us at The Glad Cafe for an evening that offers a thrilling display of deep musical knowledge, technical mastery, and a forward-thinking approach to traditional Scottish music.
