Eabhal came together while based in the Scottish Outer Hebrides. Alongside traditional songs, contemporary and self-penned tunes, the band draws influence from other musical cultures and unites them within their music. In 2018 Eabhal were winners of Hands up for Trad’s Battle of the Folk Bands and were nominated for Up and Coming Artist at 2018’s MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. They went on to release their debut album This is How the Ladies Dance in 2019 which was long-listed for Album of the year MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2019, and they toured throughout Scotland, Europe, North America and China. Their much anticipated second album is due for release in 2021.

"One of the most talked about young bands to emerge over the last year.”  (The National)

The Friel Sisters, Anna, Sheila and Clare Friel are traditional musicians born and brought up in Glasgow, Scotland with their family roots firmly entrenched in the Donegal Gaeltacht in North West Ireland. They play a mixture of music interspersed with songs in English and Irish, many from their family repertoire. Being siblings, they achieve a close blend on fiddle, flute and uilleann pipes. They have released 2 albums thus far, to critical acclaim, playing all over the world in various venues and festivals and have appeared on stage or toured with acts such as Altan, The Chieftains, Lúnasa, Sharon Shannon, The Máirtín O’Connor Trio, Cherish the Ladies and Solas. The girls have been awarded many prestigious titles over the years, most recently Clare receiving the huge honour of TG4 Young Musician of the Year in Ireland.

“Anna, Sheila and Clare are, without doubt, among the brightest musical prospects on the horizon of traditional music." (Living Tradition)
