English language courses (ESOL)

Our English classes are free and open to all adults in Glasgow who do not speak English as their first language.

Learning is open to everyone including refugees, asylum seekers and people from settled black and minority ethnic communities.

Students take an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) assessment, to find their level. They can then join the best group for them.

Most of our English courses are introductory level. Students learn how to use everyday English, improve conversation skills and learn basic English grammar.

Lessons are usually for 2 hours per week.

Please note, these classes are not suitable for tourists and visitors to Glasgow who are only staying for a short time.
