For a special party within the Old Fruit Market Halls, the Coorie Doon DJs are packing our record bags, loading up our handbuilt soundsystem and bringing our finest box of decorations to celebrate Glasgow for the Merchant City Festival opening night. Friends old and new, we invite you to come and dance with us!
Coorie Doon is a community focused party built on the collective joy of the dancefloor. Inspired by the radical ethos of David Mancuso’s Loft party, we aim to capture the best of a house party experience, whilst being open to all. Started in 2023 and running regularly at Civic House, this is a special foray into a new space. We’ll be creating a joyous, welcoming dancefloor surrounded by our own handbuilt soundsystem in the beautiful setting of the Old Fruitmarket.
What music might you hear on the night? As broad a spectrum as possible. Expect nothing but uplifting, soulful and celebratory tunes from all corners of the musical world with some Glasgow classics thrown in for good measure.
