Brrr is a new multi-sensory installation and live performance by choreographer Hayley Earlam, made for audiences with complex needs aged 10–18.
Set within an inflatable dome, Brrr is an immersive exploration of winter featuring dance, sound, video and lots and lots of snow.
Created in collaboration with young people, Brrr offers a gentle and responsive space where the audience has the choice to respond in their own way. Every performance is shaped by the audience in the room, offering young people the freedom to engage at their own pace.
The performance is suitable for those with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autistic and neurodivergent individuals, and wheelchair users or other mobility aid users. It features minimal to no language, making it suitable for non-verbal, Deaf and non-English-speaking audiences.
With a limited capacity of 8 young people plus accompanying adults, Brrr offers a restorative and inclusive theatrical experience of winter.

This performance is specifically designed for young audiences with complex needs aged 10–18, including audiences with PMLD, autistic and neurodivergent young people, and wheelchair users or other mobility-aid users. Accompanying adults are welcome.

Brrr is designed specifically as a sensory theatre experience for young audiences with complex needs, with access woven into every part of the performance. Audiences are free to engage with the work in their own way and at their own pace.
Lighting:
Lighting is gentle and responsive, with changing and shifting light effects. There are no flashing or strobe lights.
Sound:
The performance features original music and sound. Sound levels are designed to be gentle and responsive to the audience.
Audience Movement:
Audiences are free to move around the performance space, vocalise, take breaks, leave and return, and engage with the performance in their own way and at their own pace. There is no expectation to sit still or engage in a particular way.
Re-entry:
Audiences can leave and return to the performance space as needed. A dedicated Dip-Out space is available, with a live feed of the performance, allowing audiences to continue experiencing the show from a quieter space.

The Front of House team are provided with a detailed guide covering the performance and access information. A social story is also available for audiences to look through before attending, helping them know what to expect from their visit.
Created in association with Capital Theatres, with support from Creative Scotland, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Innovation Studio, and The Work Room’s Residency Programme. Previous developments of the work have been supported by Imaginate, Scottish Dance Theatre, and the Love Dance Scotland bursary.

Accessible toilets
Accessible toilets are available on all three levels of Tramway, and come equipped with handrails and emergency pull cords. Please contact Tramway prior to your visit if you have any additional requirements
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome. We can provide a bowl of water for an assistance dog. The assistance dog toilet area is located to the rear of the building.
Assistance dogs are allowed in the auditorium.
Wheelchair access
There is level access to all Tramway spaces and the cafe, with lift access to the upper spaces.
There are designated spaces for wheelchair users in the theatre.

Cafe or restaurant
Full table service is not available. Food or drinks can be ordered at the counter and will be brought to the table.
No tables are permanently fixed. No chairs are permanently fixed.
Menus are hand held only, but are clearly presented in contrasting colours. Menus are not available in Braille.

At times, Glasgow Life will be on the premises to film and take photos.
The public are only permitted to record and take photos where explicit permission has been granted in advance.
Free wifi
There is free Wi-Fi available at Tramway, which you can access by registering through Facebook or an online form. Once registered, you can access free Wi-Fi whenever you are at Tramway.
Please note, Tramway does not offer a cloakroom or bag storage service. During large-scale and busy events bag searches may be in operation and bags larger than A3 size will not be admitted to the venue.
