Following his much-lauded previous Celtic Connections appearances, in the Transatlantic Sessions and his duo with mandolin legend Mike Comption, US old-time maestro Joe Newberry returns with his newest collaborative partner, the dazzling Canadian fiddler, singer and step-dancer April Verch, mining the rich kindred traditions of the Ozarks, the Appalachians and the Ottawa Valley. “A simply gorgeous expression of musical multiculturalism” (Barry Poss, Sugar Hill Records)

The Ledger is a new collaboration between Findlay Napier, Gillian Frame and Mike Vass, revisiting afresh the seminal contents of Norman Buchan’s 101 Scottish Folk Songs (aka ‘The Wee Red Songbook’) and The Scottish Folksinger, inspired by Napier’s own family connection with the material - Every week in the late 50s and early 60s The Scotsman published a traditional Scottish folk song: lyrics and melody alongside an explanatory article, and Findlay’s grandfather Findlay Cumming cut them out and pasted them into an old ledger.
