Pride House is a temporary pop-up space which will exist during the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Beautiful Game brings together four powerful shorts exploring identity, queer love and belonging - on and off the pitch. Encompassing comedy, drama, and documentary, these films explore everything from the high-stakes tension of grassroots teams fighting for their spaces, to intimate stories of first love and family transition. Ultimately, they celebrate the vital sanctuaries we build together.

Solers United (2025, dir. Sara Harrak, 14mins)

As grass roots womxn’s football team ‘Solers United’ face eviction, emotions bubble between teammates, Nelly and Bills. Enter new striker Sals with looks as impressive as her footwork, Bills can’t help but envy her instant connection to Nelly. As the halftime whistle blows, tensions reach a boiling point and Nelly and Bills must confront their emotions to mend their fractured bond.

Who I Am Now (2022, dir. Jack Goessens, 12mins)

When Tariq’s older brother arrives from Egypt - the first time he’s seen him since he came to the UK and since his transition - he’s forced to confront his complicated feelings about family. Denise, his friend, a fellow trans refugee and teammate, shares her own story about friends and family. A film about football and family: the family we're born into and the families we make from our friends, starring Adam Kashmiry and Talisa Garcia.

Once Upon a Time in Easterhouse (2020, dir. Paul Cochrane, 16mins)

In the East End of Glasgow, a teen boy confronts his secret after falling in love for the first time.

We’ll Go Down in History (2025, dir. Cameron Richards and Charlie Tidmas, 25mins)

Two years in the life of TRUK United FC, a beacon for positive change and trans inclusivity in football. The story of TRUK United, a grassroots, proudly trans football club formed in January 2021. Filmed over two years, this heartfelt documentary captures the highs and lows of the pioneering UK team on and off the pitch as they strive to create a safe haven for their community in the face of rising transphobia.
