A fantastic line up of singers, all of whom hold a close connection with the city will be helping us mark the launch of Mod Ghlaschu 2019, including Kenna Campbell, Margaret Callan, Wilma Kennedy, Mairi MacInnes, Maeve MacKinnon, Margaret MacLeod, Iseabail Mactaggart, D-I Brown, James Graham, Gillebride MacIlleMhaoil, Darren MacLean & Calum Ross.

The evening will feature a combined choir of over 100 singers from Cumbernauld Gaelic Choir, Govan Gaelic Choir, Glasgow Gaelic Musical Association Choir & Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choir, along with a special performance from the choirs from Bunsgoil Ghàidhlig Ghleann Dail and Sgoil Ghaidhlig Ghlaschu.

The 2018 Glenfiddich Piping Champion, Finlay Johnston has composed a pipe tune for Mod Ghlaschu, which he will perform on the night. The houseband is a who’s who of Scottish musicians – Ross Ainslie, Marie Fielding, Brian McAlpine, Allan Macdonald, Finlay Wells, Cammy Maxwell and a few special guests all under the musical direction of Glasgow’s own Mary Ann Kennedy.

This is a veritable feast of fantastic singers and musicians to herald the start of the Mod Ghlaschu 2019 year.
