Merchant Sinfonia Spring Concert
Featuring music from How to Train Your Dragon and pieces from Coleridge-Taylor, Charpentier, Moross, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and the world premiere of a new piece by Meg Curlew
Join us this May for an uplifting programme of music from established and new composers performed by the 75 musicians of Glasgow’s Merchant Sinfonia.
The spring concert is especially exciting as we will be joined by special guest musicians from Drake Music Scotland to perform the world premiere of light rises, the sea outlives us by Megan Curlew
The programme will also feature performances of the following pieces:
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor – 1st movement La Caprice de Nanette from Petite Suite de Concert
Marc-Antoine Charpentier – Prelude from Te Deum.
Jermone Moross – The Big Country.
Felix Mendelssohn – Nocturne from A Midsummer Night’s Dream
John Powell – How to Train Your Dragon
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky – Symphony no. 2 final (4th) movement
