Josie Duncan’s original songs were receiving airtime on Radio 2 before she even left university, and by the time she had graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, audiences at festivals all over the world had come to recognise her as a vital figure within Scottish folk music.
The intervening years have led her to become an expert in crafting heart-warming songs which delicately balance traditional idioms and a contemporary outlook. This New Voices concert, featuring a band comprised of Scotland's most accomplished musicians, will invite listeners into a rich world where captivating and melancholic vocal harmonies melt effortlessly into upbeat, searing melodies.
