Nordic Music Days - Hebrides Ensemble & Ánnámáret

No strangers to Scottish audiences, Hebrides Ensemble are joined by Music students from the University of Glasgow and Sami vocalist Ánnámáret. 

Krister Hansén's work features the stunning vocals of Ánnámáret, whose voice is also one of many collected by Clare Johnston as part of a new work that explores the similarities and connections between Scottish and Nordic languages and dialects. Naomi McGillivray's poetic and beautifully crafted graphic score contrasts with Hans Abrahamsen's virtuosic work for solo violin, and Hebrides Ensemble reprise a work that came out of the Swedish Chamber Games project in 2022, and proved very popular with audiences and players alike.
