It's back! Last year over 100 people joined us at The Royal Concert Hall to celebrate and acknowledge International Day of Peace... we loved it so much, we're doing it all again!

The International Day of Peace (“Peace Day”) is observed around the world each year on 21 September. This year, we are thrilled to announce that International Mindfulness teacher, author and mentor Suryacitta Malcolm Smith will be leading the meditation this year. Suryacitta is one of the most experienced mindfulness teachers in the UK, starting his practice in 1989. He is the author of four books and has taught mindfulness and compassion meditation to 1000s of people in the UK and abroad.

Suryacitta is renowned for his absolute down-to-earth, jargon free approach to Mindfulness Meditation and for his simplicity and clarity. He is also known for his sense of humour so expect a wee chuckle!

The United Nations have announced this years International Day of Peace theme as: “Climate Action for Peace”

The theme draws attention to the importance of combatting climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world. Peace can only be achieved if concrete action is taken to combat climate change.

The Wee Retreat will host this gathering along with Interfaith Scotland and are delighted that David from Samadhi Soundscapes will be joining us again to play his beautiful music on the Handpan.

Everyone is welcome- faith, no faith alike, age 12+. We will observe the one minute silence the UN invite us to join them with at 12pm.

Please join us in showing the world that the people who make Glasgow, care about World Peace.

(Please note this event is not making a profit, ticket sales are to cover costs).
