First prize includes £500, and the deadline is Friday 26 September 2025. Get writing!
A bird, a tree, a bell and a fish. This year we’re asking you to write, in Scottish Gaelic, a Song to Glasgow involving these images associated with the story of the city.
Perhaps you’ll draw inspiration from the story of St Mungo and the robin, or you may have a completely different take on how these symbols represent the city in the present day.
There are amazing prizes to be won:
£500 for the best song written by an adult (18+), which will be arranged and performed by a well-known Gaelic singer and musician for Celtic Connections 2026.
Prizes for children and young people:
Under 18 (secondary school): £50 book voucher, and a family ticket for Celtic Connections 2026
Under 18 (primary school): £50 book voucher, and a family ticket for Celtic Connections 2026
