Dorset-born Roo Panes first came to wider public notice with actress Gabriele Wilde in the Burberry label’s 2012 advertising campaign. His contract also called for music and three albums on Panes has established a style that presents honest, heartfelt lyrics and appealing melodies sung in a warm, enfolding voice to precise guitar picking. Gentle, uplifting folk songs might not be expected of a fashion model but this one delivers them with quiet panache.
Mary Erskine, aka Me for Queen, grew up in Fife and began writing songs at thirteen. She takes inspiration from soul and folk music and her influences range from Carole King to Kate Bush.
