Beethoven Revolution: Piano Concerto No4

Wagner Siegfried Idyll
Beethoven Piano Concerto No4
Beethoven Symphony No4

Sharon Roffman Leader/Director
Steven Osborne Piano
Royal Scottish National Orchestra

Not every revolution is noisy. Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll is a tender cradle-song, written as a gift to the love of his life. Beethoven never wrote anything more poetic than his Fourth Piano Concerto, just as he never wrote a sunnier – or funnier – symphony than his Fourth. Steven Osborne returns on the piano, and the RSNO’s leader Sharon Roffman directs the whole concert from the violin, just as they would have done in Beethoven’s day.

Subscriptions on sale from Wednesday 20 March 2019. RSNO Circle members can priority book single tickets from Wednesday 1 May 2019. Tickets on general sale from Wednesday 8 May 2019.
