Join facilitators Erin and Chris for an arts and writing workshop, inspired by Sauchiehall Street and the female artists who worked there!

Countless male artists, such as Alasdair Gray and Charles Rennie Mackintosh, are noted for their contributions to Glasgow, but there have been many female artists who have had successful practices. From Chica MacNab, Alison McKenzie and Carleton Smyth, to Margaret and Frances MacDonald - many female artists also trained in the area and produced ground-breaking works.

In this workshop, you will be invited to explore your experiences of the street through a short writing workshop.  After the writing exercise, you'll be invited to illustrate your memories in the style of female Glasgow artists - use techniques like watercolor painting, printmaking, and fabric collaging to help you bring your stories to life!

This is a free event, but booking is required to help us keep an eye on numbers. Book your ticket on Eventbrite.

If you have any access needs or any questions, please email: sauchiehallstreet@glasgowlife.org.uk.
