Lucifer, Satan, the Devil. Just as his names are varied, so too are his depictions, appearing as a rebel angel, a goat-legged demon, and a monstrous seven-headed dragon. But why has the embodiment of evil captured the imagination of so many artists throughout history? Join us at the Glasgow Museum Resource Centre as we examine images of Satan found within our collection and explore his changing representations. You will see the Devil himself in print, painting and sculpture, with works from William Blake, James Elder Christie and Niki de Saint Phalle.
