Acclaimed Danish trio Stundom brings a captivating blend of Nordic folk, chamber music and contemporary composition to the festival stage. Drawing inspiration from traditional Scandinavian dance music, the group creates a rich and expressive sound world where soaring violin melodies, shimmering cittern lines and evocative piano arrangements unfold with elegance and warmth.
Audiences can expect finely crafted tunes, intricate interplay and a performance shape by the trio’s remarkable musical chemistry. Rooted in heritage yet forward-looking in approach, their music moves effortlessly between intimate folk melodies and expansive, almost symphonic textures. Widely celebrated across Denmark for their innovative take on New Nordic folk and recipients of major awards for both composition and recording, Stundom has earned a reputation for performances that are both immersive and emotionally resonant.
Their return to Celtic Connections offers a perfect opportunity to experience one of Scandinavia’s most distinctive contemporary folk ensembles in a live setting.
