The Traveling Janes are an electrifying, all-female international collective breathing fierce new life into the joyous, hard-swinging music of early 20th-century jazz and blues pioneers.
Led by acclaimed Scottish-American vocalist Ali Affleck, the group features award-winning musicians from four different countries (including the US, Singapore, and France), delivering a stunning fusion of virtuosity and authenticity.
Taking their name from the bold women who worked the railroad and vaudeville tent shows, the ensemble strips away the 'Gatsby glamour' to present the real, authentic, and often irreverent sounds that launched legends like Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, and Louis Armstrong.
This is a foot-stomping, feel-good celebration of powerful women and the birth of a revolutionary music form, delivered with wit, grit, and serious chops. It’s a wild, joyful ride back to the heart of Americana.
