Established by folk development agency Hands Up for Trad
to encourage and support new or emerging Scottish acts, Battle of the Folk
Bands returns to the live arena as another four hopeful line-ups, selected from
an open submission process, fight it out before a panel of expert judges, with
recording and gig opportunities up for grabs as well as the victor’s laurels.
Previous year’s winners – including Dosca, Eabhal, The Canny Band and the Tom
Campbell Trio – have all continued to make their mark on the Scottish scene, so
come along and catch tomorrow’s stars today.
