What is WOMAD?

WOMAD is a festival like no other. It is about community and the connection people can feel through music and the arts. There is an emphasis on coming together and celebrating people's differences.

Acts and musicians from across the world perform at WOMAD. It is truly a place to experience music without borders.

Not only that, but WOMAD goes beyond the music. A selection of workshops, wellness sessions and interactive experiences will be on offer. There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Kelvingrove Park will be transformed on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 July. We are delivering the event with WOMAD International and our Celtic Connections programming team.

Music at WOMAD

WOMAD Glasgow's programme is full of international artists. In total, more than 30 artists from 22 countries will perform. There are well-established stars as well as emerging talent.

Across the festival's four stages, you can enjoy pop, dance, folk, jazz, hip-hop, and more. Among that there are plenty of homegrown heroes as well as global talent. Whatever vibe you're looking for, you'll find it at WOMAD Glasgow.

Four performers from the Commonwealth diaspora based in Glasgow will also perform. The aim is to give global voices in the city a platform at the festival. This is supported by the Glasgow 2026 Festival.
