Educational Visits

We offer free educational sessions at the Mitchell Library for schools and colleges.

In-person visits  (Max. 12 pupils)

A visit to the library includes free membership to Glasgow Libraries, access to our suite of e-Resources, a guided tour of the library and a hands-on demonstration of how to get the most from our resources.

The tour is around 1.5 hrs long and there is the opportunity to stay and use the library space with your group afterwards.

Online sessions

For groups unable to visit the library in person, we are pleased to offer online sessions with a librarian to guide your students round the e-Resources collection.

This includes Gale Literature, Proquest, business information resources, online newspapers and the library catalogue.

Sessions will take place via Microsoft Teams and will last around 1 hour.

Pupils will receive a free library membership and be able to access these resources from school or at home.

Membership only

You can still access many of our e-Resources without a visit or an online session – let us know and we can post out free library memberships for your group
