Advent Procession by Candlelight at Glasgow Cathedral


Sunday 30 November, 7pm 


Join us to mark the start of Advent with a traditional procession. Beginning in darkness, this service gradually moves throughout the medieval cathedral, filling it with music, light, and readings to prepare for the arrival of Christmas. Cathedral Choir offers uplifting music including Jonathan Dove's dazzling Seek Him that maketh the Seven Stars.

All are welcome to this service, which is unticketed and free to attend.

Blessing of the Crib

Wednesday 3 December, 6pm

The Blessing of the Crib in Glasgow 2025 will be held on Wednesday, December 3 in the piazza area in front of Glasgow Cathedral. Traditional carols will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by the blessing at 6:30 PM.

Ceremony of Nine Lessons & Carols at Glasgow Cathedral

Sunday 21 December, 7pm 

On the Sunday before Christmas, celebrate the season with as we move through the Christmas story, hearing bible readings interspersed with wonderful music from the Cathedral’s professional choir, featuring the exquisite A Tender Shoot by Kerensa Briggs, and concluding with Cecilia McDowall’s cheery In Dulci Jubilo.
