Tea and Tour
**Sessions currently paused until further notice**
Come and join us for a stroll through our museums, handle real objects and have a chat over a cup of tea.
These FREE sessions take place on the first Tuesday of the month between 10.30 a.m. and 12 noon. We’ll explore a different theme and a new museum each session. Come on your own and make some new friends or bring a pal.
Understanding and supportive gallery staff facilitate these sessions, and many of them are trained Dementia Friends. All our museums are fully accessible, and chairs will be available in case you need a sit-down during the tour.
You don’t need to book, except for sessions at Glasgow Museums Resource Centre (GMRC). For GMRC please phone 0141 287 9300.
You can find the latest sessions and at what venues in our What’s On brochure.ReEngage Programme
Glasgow Museums work with ReEngage (previously Contact the Elderly) to provide gatherings at our venues.
These cater for people in Glasgow over the age of 70, who may live alone or find it harder to get out on their own and are interested in visiting museums. The guests are collected from their homes by volunteer drivers and explore a different museum each month.
There are 3 groups including one specifically for older men.

Many of Glasgow Museums host a Natter & Chatter table to encourage people to start conversations. Whether it’s a five-minute natter while you take a brew-break from wandering around the galleries, or an hour of good conversation, everyone is welcome! The Natter & Chatter table aims to create a space for people to interact, maybe making that little bit of difference to someone’s day. Anyone can join in, whether you’re on your own, with a friend, learning English, a carer, a parent or grandparent with a child, young, old or any age between! So, if you’re happy to talk to other visitors, look out for the Natter & Chatter sign on one of our tables, take a seat, and let the conversation begin!
