Glaswegians are at heart of the project

Professional groups from across Glasgow make up the People's Palace Community Partners' Panel.

The panel is a chance for groups to share their expertise and shape the redevelopment project.

By the people, for the people

The panel ensures community voices and lived experience are central to the People's Palace project. This is vital as the aim is for the re-imagined People's Palace and Winter Gardens to be "of and by" the community rather than just "for" the community.

The groups involved give a fresh perspective and have a strategic role. They also work closely with our museum and project team. Part of their work has been developing gallery themes and messaging. They have also influenced architectural plans and developed an activity plan.

It's a one-of-a-kind project which has embedded participatory practice from its very onset. The way that it has recruited partners from all across the community... from all walks of life... then to tell them genuinely, we want to work together with you in this project, to make it happen.

People's Palace and Winter Gardens site visit

The members of the Community Partners' Panel went on a site visit during their fourth meeting. The workshop on the day focused on design concepts, floor plans, and gallery themes.

Who makes up the Community Partners Panel?

The panel involves people from 14 groups which are connected to project objectives.
