We’re currently in the process of reinstating our Learn to Swim lessons to some of our pools across the city however, unfortunately, we are unable to recommence lessons in all the pools in which we operated prior to March 2020.
We’ve been in touch with all customers who are able to rebook, and all Direct Debits and Top-Up credits for customers not currently accessing the Learn to Swim programme will remain frozen until we are able to reinstate lessons.
Due to the limited number of spaces available across the current programme, we aren’t in a position to invite any new members to our Learn to Swim sessions. We know this is disappointing, but thank you for your understanding as we work hard behind the scenes to reintroduce lessons to other venues as soon as we’re able to do so.
Learn to Swim lessons
Swimming is one of the most important skills you can learn. Our Glasgow Sport Learn to Swim programme is an ideal introduction to the water for children and adults of all abilities.
We offer lessons for babies all the way to competent swimmers with flexible payment options to suit everyone.
Our Swim Staff
Our teachers are qualified and receive regular ongoing training to enable us to support every child as they learn the life skill of swimming. We use the Scottish Swimming National Framework across all 12 facilities in the City.
Early Years (6 months - 3 years)
The Early Years programme is designed to allow adults to become more confident in the water with their baby/toddler. This class encourages water confidence and basic core aquatic skills through play and song.
Learn to Swim Programme (3 years +)
A progressive programme where children are taught the swimming strokes and skills to become a competent swimmer.
- The first step of your child's swimming journey is the Pre-School class (for children aged 3+ who haven't yet started school)
- The Swim Skills 1 class is for children who attend school and are independent learners within a group environment
Adult Swim Pathway (16 years +)
The adult swim pathway offers the opportunity to learn to swim in a supported class environment. Our structured classes provide the flexibility to learn a range of aquatic skills to support adults in achieving their swimming goals.
Learn to Swim Provider of the Year Award 2018
Glasgow Sport was recognised in 2018 as offering the best Learn to Swim programme in Scotland - this was awarded by Scottish Swimming and is in recognition of the quality Learn to Swim programme available within Glasgow and the efforts of all staff to ensure that our programme is the best it can be!
