Heritage Artists in Communities 2026-27
Introduction
We are pleased to invite submissions for our next round of Heritage Artist in Communities commissions for 2026-27.
Glasgow-based artists are invited to apply for one of two, year-long themed residencies which empower audiences to participate in creative activity and community research to document and explore the area’s intangible heritage. This research will feed into a Heritage Interpretation Framework for the area, meaning artists and communities will have the opportunity to see their research manifested in public space.
Artists or Artist Collectives are invited to respond to one of two themes:
- Charing Cross & the creation of the M8
- Pubs, bars and nightlife
You can find more information about the context behind each theme in the downloadable brief below. Please read this before making your application.
Information Sessions
Two group calls will be held via Teams for an introduction to the project and space to ask questions about the opportunities.
Dates and times are:
• Monday 30 March – 1.00pm
• Tuesday 31 March – 6.00pm
If you would like to join an information session to ask questions about your application, please email amcv@glasgowlife.org.uk
If you are unable to attend an information session, we have a project space at Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street which you are welcome to drop into to have a chat with a member of the team face to face.
