Our Curator of European Art will discuss this masterpiece by Camille Pissarro,  one of the major figures of Impressionism. A painter of everyday life and landscape, discover the light and shade of this artist's beautiful riverbank scene. This painting was gifted to Glasgow Museums by the Hamilton Trustees in 1951. Through the generous support of the Hamilton Bequest, which was set up in 1927 to purchase oil paintings for Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow Museums has acquired ninety Scottish, British and European paintings of international importance over the last ninety-one years.
