The artist formerly known as The Boy Who Trapped the Sun, Colin Macleod has found new inspiration in familiar surroundings since he returned to his native Lewis. Having sometimes been likened to an assortment of American troubadours in his previous incarnation, he has embraced the storytelling traditions of the Hebrides in general and the formal and informal history of his homeland in particular, turning tragedy, loss and recovery into respectful, heartfelt songs with his own singular stamp. A singer with a beguiling, affecting vocal timbre, Colin Macleod makes mature, deep feeling and emotionally complex music with a confident melodic presence.
