Join Dougie Payne, the bass player with multi-platinum-selling Scottish indie band, Travis, as he brings his debut picture book, Poochie Pete and His Very Big Feet to this year's Wee Write Family Day. With stories, specially-written songs and live drawing by talented illustrator Rachel Seago. Perfect for 3 to 6 year-old dog lovers.

Despite his good intentions, Poochie Pete’s feet are always causing chaos wherever he goes. He longs to find his place in the world, somewhere he belongs. But it’s not until he discovers a music shop and its helpful owner, Henry Large, that he finds his own song and the place where his heart truly feels at home.

Dougie Payne is the bass player and backing vocalist with multi-platinum selling Scottish indie band, TRAVIS.

Dougie was a graduate of Glasgow School of Art where he met the other members of Travis before joining the band on bass guitar, going on to record best-selling albums and selling out stadiums across the globe.

He has always read and written stories for his two children illustrating them himself, but was much more keen to develop his writing. In an effort to hone down his ideas he was mentored by award-winning author, Maisie Chan.

Poochie Pete is Dougie’s debut picture book.

After travelling around the world, Rachel Seago now lives in Scotland. She illustrates children’s books, drawing her inspiration from nature, places she has visited and the people she meets along the way.
