Exhibition and events showcasing the Gaberbocchus Press collection available at The Mitchell Library.
Gaberbocchus Press was a small publishing house, based in London from 1948 - 1979. It was run by Polish artists (and married couple) Franciszka and Stefan Themerson. They published over 60 titles, many of which were written by Stefan and illustrated by Franciszka. From poetry, philosophy, children's books and opera, these books are united by their bold, experimental and humorous approach.
This is a free, drop-in event. You don't need to register and no ticket required.
Exhibition on view Wednesday 1st April - Wednesday 6th May 2026. Look out for events, including workshops, exhibition tours, talks and family-friendly activities.

Parking
Please note that there is on-street parking surrounding The Mitchell Library. This is metered from 8am-6pm. Monday to Friday. As this is a local residential area, please use these spaces considerately. Alternatively, there is a NCP Car Park on India Street next to Charing Cross Train Station which is a 2 minute walk away.
Photography and video recording
On occasion, Glasgow Life will be on the premises to film and take photos.
