As part of Piping Live! 2022, 10 new pieces that have been created for the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland (NYPBS) will be premiered. These new pieces will be presented by a bespoke project band featuring the 10 young composers themselves, as well as NYPBS Pipers and Drummers alongside leading traditional musicians.

Now in its second year, the NYPBS’ Emerging Composers project gives young composers the chance to write for Scotland's only concert Pipe Band.

This year’s Piping Live! concert will feature work from last year’s cohort on the theme of Scotland’s Stories and brand new work from this year’s 20 Years Young project, celebrating 20 years of NYPBS.
