To celebrate Robert Burns’ life and work the Mitchell Library and National Library of Scotland will display two original Burns’ manuscripts, brought together for the first time.
From the National Library of Scotland’s collection we will exhibit ‘Holy Willie’s Prayer’, one of Robert Burns’ most famous poems. It is a satirical attack on the hypocrisy of narrow minded religion.
From Glasgow Museums’ Special Collections from the Mitchell Library we will exhibit ‘The Ordination’, a satire on the appointment of a Kilmarnock minister reflecting conflicts between traditional and progressive religious ideas.
Please note that there is no booking for this event but it
is likely to be popular so expect to have to queue a little to see the manuscripts.

The car park on Bunhouse Road is managed by City Parking. Charges are as follows:

Mon-Sun 6pm-8am, £2 flat rate.
