RSNO Chamber Ensemble
Still waters run deep. Gabriel Fauré was modest, witty and elegant; always a popular guest in the glittering salons of Paris’ Belle Époque. Real passion surges beneath the beautiful surface of his chamber music, and four RSNO players will bring it to life today, as well as rediscovering the gorgeous (and startlingly emotional) music of the neglected British composer Frank Bridge. He was Benjamin Britten’s favourite teacher, and you can really tell.
